Polynucleotides are natural compounds derived from DNA and RNA fragments. Polynucleotides stimulate cellular regeneration by providing the skin with the necessary building blocks for collagen and elastin production.

Polynucleotide injections are administered through a series of microinjections into the skin, this minimally invasive approach reduces downtime and discomfort.

When injected into the skin polynucleotides signal two all-important changes to the way the skin behaves. First, it acts as a wound healing agent telling the skin to up regulate its repair mechanisms. This increase in cellular activity in the skin results in intense rejuvenation leaving the skin more supple with a marked reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and other signs of aging.

It also has an anti-inflammatory effect, which means it reduces the negative effects of histamine on the skin which in turn allows the skin to focus on boosting cell renewal by increasing collagen production, improving elasticity and hydration.

Polynucleotides are commonly used to rejuvenate various areas of the face and body particularly in hard to treat areas such as the eyes. They work hard over a period of time to improve skin texture and health. We love them at SAS Aesthetics because they are rapidly becoming our treatment of choice for addressing traditionally difficult to treat like crepey skin and protect you against free radicals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I repeat the treatment?

Initial treatment consists of 3 sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart. For optimum results, repeat the treatment every 6-9 months.

What are the benefits?

Polynucleotides stimulate collagen and elastin production which improves skin texture, firmness, skin hydration, minimises the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, promotes collagen and elastin production.

Is it painful?

We apply a topical anaesthetic to the skin prior to the procedure. This makes it a relatively pain-free treatment.

Are there any contra-indications?

Yes, the absolute contra-indications are pregnancy, breast feeding, fish allergy. Relative contra-indications are the use of blood thinning medications (please discuss this with your doctor during your consultation).

What is the difference between Fillers and Polynucleotides?

Dermal Fillers add volume to the face. For those who want to target the loss of collagen that results in skin sagging, fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture and health without having to add unnecessary volume. Polynucleotides is highly recommended.

What are polynucleotides made from?

Polynucleotides are biopolymers – stretchy molecules made from fragments of fish DNA extracted from salmon or trout which closely resemble human DNA.

// Sofwave uses a patented technology to lift and tighten skin over a sustained period of time.

It works by “waking up” the factory layer of the skin and increasing the production of proteins that make up the building blocks of younger skin.

We love combining them with Polynucleotides usually in the same session as the two work together.

Sofwave wakes up the skin. Polys nourish the cells to get the most out of your treatment.

We’d love to help you achieve your goals. Call or message today for more details.
